Ioana Arsenie, romanian entrepreneur: Women are more sensitive, and this gives the business environment a human side

Ioana Arsenie loves math. At 18 years old,  her Olympics math teacher advised her to avoid an educational career, because the salary in Romania is really small. In addition, if she wants to succeed she has to combine her passion with something pragmatic.  Which she did.

After she studies maths, she tries economy and as a grown-up, Ioana becomes a consultant. A position she keeps for five years. Then, she grows an international company from scratch.

More exactly, Ioana Arsenie worked in a man’s world, as she likes to say about agribusiness medium, in a top position, for more than ten years.  And, when she felt there were not too many challenges left for her, she decided that it was time to start a business on her own.

First, she invested 8.000 euros in training courses, marketing strategy and in coaching. And, for more than two years now, she supports workshops in financial affairs.

Today, Ioana is a strategic management consultant and she is telling me that things went well for her.

In her opinion, a lot of work, perseverance, innovation, and curiosity are the key ingredients for a successful career.

Succes, she believes, as much as you can control it, is given by a great strategy, centered on the client, with the control of the finances. And much more than this, by the team you create that has the same vision and values as you do, as an entrepreneur.

Asked what she thinks about the women in business, Ioana Arsenie says that today’s ladies can do as well as men. “Every CEO is oriented to performance, doesn’t matter the gender. Entrepreneurs have to go from passion to business, oriented to revenue.”

Also, she adds, women are respected if they say their point of view.

“Women are more sensitive, and this gives the business environment a human side”, explain Ioana Arsenie.

Her little pleasures? A miraculous mask, a good reading, and … a chocolate.
